When the conversation matters, the process should be clear.
BLACKMARK is a mediation and alternative dispute resolution practice built around a considered process: understand the issues, bring structure to the discussion, and create room for informed decisions.
Our focus is on constructive dialogue and the possibilities it can open. Public adjusting is also offered as a distinct service for policyholders navigating a property insurance claim.
A deliberate approach to clarifying points of disagreement, organizing the discussion, and exploring paths toward resolution.

Alternative dispute resolution creates space to address a matter through an agreed process. The appropriate role and format depend on the dispute and the parties involved.
Issue identification and process planning
Structured settlement discussions
Coordination of an agreed resolution process
The process, participants, and scope are established before work begins.
Different matters call for different roles. Policyholder representation and neutral mediation are distinct engagements; the role, scope, and potential conflicts are reviewed before work begins.

A deliberate practice
Composed. Considered. Clear.
A difficult conversation calls for a deliberate process. We value preparation, clear communication, and space for each perspective to be heard.
Our three-line mark reflects a belief in clarity and restraint. The same mindset guides our approach: define the role, understand the issues, and keep the next step in view.

A constructive discussion begins with room to listen. Mediation provides a process for exploring what matters and what might be possible.

Which service is right for my matter?+
If the parties want a neutral facilitator for their discussion, start with mediation. For help establishing a structured process to address a disagreement, explore alternative dispute resolution. For support with your property insurance claim as a policyholder, ask about public adjusting. The appropriate service and role are confirmed before engagement.
Is a mediator my representative?+
No. A mediator serves in a neutral role and does not represent either party. Public adjusting is a separate service in which the adjuster represents the policyholder. These roles are defined separately, with potential conflicts reviewed before work begins.
Does mediation guarantee a settlement?+
No outcome is guaranteed. A mediator helps the parties explore issues and possible terms; the parties decide whether to reach an agreement.
What should I include in an initial inquiry?+
Include the service you are considering, the state or jurisdiction, and a brief general description of the matter. For mediation, note the type of dispute and the parties who would participate. Save policy numbers, detailed records, and sensitive documents for an agreed intake channel.
Where are services available?+
Service availability, applicable licensing, and suitability for the matter must be confirmed for the relevant jurisdiction before an engagement is accepted.
